Acupressure was developed over 5,000 years ago. It uses precise placements of pressure over specific points along the body. These points follow specific channels, known as meridians. Acupressure can help to improve blood flow and release tension.
Acupressure is different from acupuncture in that no needles are used. Acupressure can stimulate the same points at acupuncture through small electrical impulses (pointer plus), rubbing the points or placing small beads over the desired point location.
Both acupressure and acupuncture are wonderful assets to chiropractic care. Currently we only offer acupressure in our clinic however next year we are hoping to incorporate acupuncture as well.
